CIRCULAR DESIGN SOLUTIONS

I design with the end of the lifecycle of a garment in mind. What will happen when a garment is worn? Will it be passed on to future generations? Can it transform into a new product? Is it a product that is made to stand the test of time, or is it a trend product and should it be able to be disposed in a harmless way?

As designers we have a responsibility to design in way that our products have a minimal impact to the environment, and preferably even have a positive impact.

DIGITAL DESIGN

Programmes such as CLO3D  and Blender help to visualise ideas in a better way. It is great for playing around with proportions and fabrics, and experiment with pattern cutting. CLO3D also helps to get a better understanding of how a garment or accessory is created. By making 3D visuals you help production to get a better understanding of the final product, so the wanted result is achieved in a more efficient way.

You can even use 3D renders as a sales tool, for example  to test the demand of an item with agents or followers on social media. That way you minimise stock and save resources.
